Autumn Alternative Bouquets

Need a gorgeous bouquet for that special occasion?  Autumn wedding, anniversary, birthday?  I have been very busy creating beautiful altered vintage hand held mirrors.  I alter them with jewelry and buttons from the same vintage time period and add an embellishment or two to give it that extra special fantasy feeling.  I am now making single blossom silky bouquets that may be easily attached to any of my art mirrors..they really are not just for weddings..but they do make a perfect alternative bouquet for any bride or bridal party attendant. I am slowly building my collection.  One of my mirrors has already sold at the Portland Flea For All.  These are one of a kind, truly vintage works of art.  The two art mirrors are made by assemblage.  The wedding mirrors are altered vintage.  The bouquets are made for any mirror or Bible or prayer book.  They look lovely as a simple minimalist bouquet.

The best part is they are priced at a reasonable level for a truly one of a kind bridal keepsake that will be cherished forever.  I am always more than happy to do custom work.  Please feel free to contact me if you have a specific color scheme in mind.

I have creatively altered a vintage mirror by embellishing it with with vintage jewels of the same mid-century time period. The leaves were Sarah Coventry clip on earrings. I have created a single blossom bouquet which when added to the mirror makes it a unique and beautiful alternative bridal party bouquet. Custom bouquets may also be ordered.

The highlight of this VINTAGE, DELICATE BROWN FLOWER HAND MIRROR WITH GOLD-TONE FRAME AND ORNATE HANDLE is the exquisite handmade lampwork focal bead. In keeping with the style of the period, I have added it to the center of the back. This beautiful bead along with the dangling teardrop bead give the mirror its unique charm.

This mirror is perfect for a gift, photo prop, wedding keepsake. It has a beautiful duality. It can first be given as a gift to the bride at her shower. Then it can be used as a prop in wedding photographs, lastly, a simple bouquet could be added to the mirror side and it could be held by the mirror handle and carried down the aisle. Afterwards, the flowers, fresh or silk, could be tossed at the reception and the mirror kept forever as an original keepsake.

This is a lovely altered vintage vanity hand mirror in rich brown tones with delicate flowers all surrounded by a gold tone frame. The attached handle has a nice little ornate scroll pattern at the top. The mirror glass is in good vintage condition. The mirror top measures about 5"(12.7cm) at its widest point and 6"(15.24cm) tall. The handle is 6 1/2" (16.51cm)long. Overall the mirror is 12 1/2" (31.75cm) long.

The mirror comes beautifully gifted in a black box with a soft chiffon "pillow" insert. and a clear view cover. The presentation is in keeping with the luxurious art inside.

My altered vintage art mirrors reflect my love of color, contrast, texture, and form. It also embraces my sentimental attachment to vintage jewelry and buttons. Buttons and jewelry remind me of hours spent in my childhood playing with buttons in old fruitcake tins, and my mother's "magnificent" collection of costume jewelry.

In creating the art mirrors, I feel like I am stepping back in time to that wonderful childhood place of endless imagination and fantasy, reminiscent of playing "dress up". The mirror is crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail.
