Green Fields Kissed By The Sun...Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

"Nothing Gold Can Stay" is a poem by Robert Frost, written in 1923, and published in the Harvard Review in October of that year. It was later published in the collection New Hampshire (1923; copyright renewed 1951)[1] that earned Frost the 1924 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. 
I LOVE ROBERT FROST.  HE IS ONE OF THE FEW POETS THAT I COULD TRULY RELATE TO.  IN HIGH SCHOOL OUR CHORUS SANG SOME OF HIS POETRY SET TO MUSIC, IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE I  WILL ALWAYS CHERISH. I had never heard of this poem until I decided to design a treasury around the colors of green and gold.  As usual, I did a little research.  I was so happy to find this delightful, Pulitzer Prize winning poem.  It is so beautiful. You can learn more about it on Wikipedia which I feel is one of the best resources for good information on the internet.  Of course, I also had in mind the song, "Green Fields Kissed By The Sun."  It is another favorite of mine, a classic that I have included in a YouTube at the end.I hope you enjoy my Green Gold Treasury.  On my TAGT TEAM  this week we are featuring two shops as well as four birthdays.  I have spotlighted their items in my treasury link list .  I am sure you will fall in love with at least one of these golden green items...i did!
